My contribution to the Valentine’s Invitational show at Reading Frenzy in Portland, OR. The brief dictated that the piece include a heart. Sometimes the road less traveled remains that way for a reason. 9x9”, ink on paper.
The second project I did with the boys down at Golden Saddle Cyclery in Los Angeles. These aren’t just bottles, they’re vessels! The design is inspired by native Acoma pottery patterns dating back 800 years. Even when the design is newly painted and updated to include the subtle “G”, “S”, “C” it stays true to the history of these shapes and the pottery it has adorned for centuries.
The pattern was first hand drawn and then painted in ink to closely recreate a similar technique as the acoma potters used. Staying true to the process ensures that the lines and shapes also remain true. Ink was ultimately digitized before the good people over at Specialized printed the bottles. All in all a great project from start to finish.
Find them by visiting Golden Saddle Cyclery or online at Trackosaurus Rex.
